Draft minutes from the LEADER meeting on 24th March 2011
a) Fencing - completed
b) Bus/cycle shelter
Claim from Leader fund re concrete base still to be made.
Also - consider extending concrete base/laying slabs around bus shelter/telephone box to improve appearance. OR have area strimmed approx 3x a year over 10 year period. Sarah to obtain comparable costings
Fencing round area behind Torr Gardens to be extended upwards. To look at improving steps and establishing wheelchair/pushchair access. Sarah to obtain prices.
Other jobs to complete - painting of wall, handrail and bus shelter.
c) Seating and Childrens Areas
New play equipment and benches are being purchased through Highland Council with delivery expected mid February. Installation will be as soon as possible (weather dependant). There will be no VAT to pay on these – represents a significant saving on original estimates.
d) Signage
Group discussed drawing proposals for Entrance signs presented by chosen supplier and recommended more natural, rounded stonework and larger slate name inset.
Slab laid for Shoreline sign (costs to be reclaimed from Leader fund) – need to consider improved finishing for this slab rather than plain concrete. Shoreline sign will combine photo opportunity with information ‘board’ about Loch. Information for this sign sought – loch level change/nessie/wildlife/topo cross section/Torr point/footpaths etc. Board should be ready for installation March/April 2012.
Information sign - metal- perhaps just upstream of track crossing burn into car park. To cover jet-skis/dog fouling/fires etc
Contributing parties logos to be added to signs
‘In Kind’ Hours
Any work done by locals in tidying up/meetings/administration/telephone calls to be supplied to Sarah to add to Leader grant forms. Ella MacRae will co-ordinate this
Finance
Large bills will be required to be paid by end of February 2012. Need to ensure we have loan funds available either from Dores Community Trust or obtain a bridging loan through Highland Council. These monies will be repaid by Leader grant. John Hedger will sort out repaying Dores Community Trust’s previous loan and will look at applying for monies required in February.
