Local Groups
Residents of Dores are active in an number of groups and committees. These are listed below :-
Dores Community Development Trust
The Dores Community Development Trust was set up to administer the funds donated to the community by the organisers of the Rock Ness festival.
Dores Gala
The Dores Gala was started in 1977 for the Queen’s jubilee. It is organised & run voluntarily by locals with the help of their friends and family to raise funds for local groups & organisations.
Heritage Group
The Group was set up in 2003 with the objectives of researching, promoting and safeguarding the heritage of the South Loch Ness Area. Also to create an archive of the area, and to collate material for publication, exhibition and education.
S.L.A.G. - South Loch Ness Access Group
This recently established group has been set up to help improve access for horse riders and walkers on the South Side of Loch Ness.
