Latest Update: Monday 16th January 2012: Dores & Essich Community COuncil had a meeting this evening. No application for planning permission has yet been received from Highland Council!!

The Community Council takes very seriously the impending planning application for the Dores Inn, and the opinions in the community about this proposal.

At present no planning application has been submitted to Highland Council and until that has been done no action by the Community Council can be taken.

However the Community Council is currently drafting a list of action points to be followed once formal plans have been submitted, to ensure everyone is given the opportunity to express their views. This will include

• formal request to Highland Council Planning Department to hold the planning application until the community has been able to consider the application and make formal representation.
• making sure that copies of the submitted plans are available in the community, including making the plans available in the hall for 2 afternoon/evenings
• consultation with the community, primarily a public meeting to discuss the plans
• consideration of the plans at a Community Council meeting followed by a formal submission on behalf of the Community Council to the Planning Department

Once copies of the Planning Application are received from the Highland Council Planning Department a time-table of the above action points will be printed and distributed to every household. It will also be available on this page.

Over and above this any member of the community who has concerns can submit them in writing to the Highland Council Planning Department once a planning application has been submitted.
